Skipton Castle

Perched at the top of the High Street, the castle is a much loved and visited landmark in the market town of Skipton. One of the best preserved medieval fortresses in the country the castle is over 900 years old and is home to the Fattorini family. This drawing is of the gatehouse and main entrance to the castle with the “Des Or Mais” (Henceforth) motto above the gateway.
