About

Hey there! I’m Paul, a retired graphic designer and design manager who’s happily gone back to my roots in traditional drawing and illustration. I’ve always loved it (thanks to my artist parents who got me started young), and now I finally have the time to really dive in again.
I studied design in college and spent most of my career working in TV graphics, creating title sequences and motion graphics for all sorts of documentaries, dramas, and films. My love of animation and illustration is what got me into it in the first place. I was (and still am) inspired by legends like Chuck Jones, Friz Freleng, Milt Kahl, Richard Williams, Ralph Steadman, George Hardie, Sue Coe, Chloe Cheese, and of course, the brilliant Saul Bass.

Although I loved my career, latterly as a C.O.O. of a leading design agency, managing a team of incredibly talented designers, I was happy to step away and rediscover my inner artist.

Rummaging through some old storage boxes I found two art school sketchbooks belonging to my parents. Inspired by their wonderful drawings and paintings, I decided to start sketching myself. I was further encouraged by chatting with a couple of great friends and ex-colleagues who have also started painting and drawing again. Paul and Graham are two of the best artists I know.
