Bolton Priory
I have spent many hours on the Bolton Abbey Estate, just a few miles from my home, both professionally and for pleasure. The estate has a long and distinguished association with art, most notably through J. M. W. Turner, whose work explored themes of nature, history, and quiet contemplation. A number of his paintings and drawings inspired by Bolton Abbey are now held in the collections of Tate Britain and The British Museum.
Bolton Abbey remains a deeply inspiring place, and I’ve enjoyed many hours sketching at different locations around the priory and across the surrounding countryside. I feel very fortunate to live and work within such a remarkable and beautiful landscape.
