Sougha Stairs

A friend asked if I could illustrate these steps in Skipton Wood as a gift for her daughter.
The ancient woodland lies behind Skipton Castle and is cared for by the Woodland Trust. The 37-acre habitat is more than 1,000 years old and includes the Sougha Gill Challenge, a steep climb of over 50 steps connecting the lower Eller Beck footpath to the Earl of Thanet trail at the top of the woods.

A real pleasure to draw this scene which has a touch of Tolkein about it!
